2020 ChaTech Scholars Program

Description

The Chattanooga Technology Council (ChaTech) connects the local technology community to help drive economic growth for all. The ChaTech Scholars program supports our strategic goal to invest in the region’s technology talent.

For the last seven years, scholarships have focused pm students attending specific colleges in our area. This year we are expanding eligibility to two new groups. You can now apply for a ChaTech Scholars award if you fall into one of these categories:

  1. Students in IT and computer science majors at these area two-year and four-year schools.
    1. Center Centre
    2. Chattanooga State
    3. Cleveland State
    4. Covenant College
    5. Dalton State College
    6. Georgia Northwestern Technical College
    7. Lee University
    8. Middle Tennessee State University
    9. Southern Adventist University
    10. Tennessee Tech
    11. University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
  2. Current IT professionals living and working in the greater Chattanooga area who are pursuing online graduate programs.
  3. Residents of the greater Chattanooga area who interested in pursuing a bootcamp-style IT program to start a tech-related career.
Rules

1. Students in IT and computer science majors in 2-year/4-year programs

  1. Must be currently enrolled in one of these two-year or four-year schools:
    1. Center Centre
    2. Chattanooga State
    3. Cleveland State
    4. Covenant College
    5. Dalton State College
    6. Georgia Northwestern Technical College
    7. Lee University
    8. Middle Tennessee State University
    9. Southern Adventist University
    10. Tennessee Tech
    11. University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
  2. Students must be taking classes in their declared major.

2. IT Professionals pursing online continuing education

  1. The professional must reside AND work in the greater Chattanooga area
  2. Applicants must be enrolling in a tech industry-related continuing education course.
  3. Have applied and been accepted to the school/course they plan to attend if acceptance is required.
  4. The course must start no later than 3 months after receiving the scholarship (no later than February 2021)

3. Bootcamp Applicants

  1. Applicants must be enrolling in a tech industry bootcamp related to Software Development / Security / Design / Product Management or a similar topic.
  2. Have applied and been accepted to the bootcamp they plan to attend if acceptance is required.
  3. The bootcamp program must start no later than May 31, 2021.
