The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with MetLife to recognize the very best in American small business. Every year at the Small Business Summit, the Dream Big Small Business of the Year Awards program honors the achievements of small businesses and highlights their contributions to America’s economic growth.

AWARDS OVERVIEW

DREAM BIG SMALL BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARDS PROGRAM

The Dream Big Small Business of the Year Awards Program celebrates the success of small business and honors its contributions to America’s economic growth. If eligible, all applicants will be considered for the Dream Big Small Business of the Year Award.

Eligible small businesses can also apply to be considered for a Business Achievement Award.

There are six Business Achievement Awards:

1.Emerging Business Award

2.Green/Sustainable Business Award 

3.Minority-Owned Business Award

4.Veteran-Owned Business Award

5.Woman-Owned Business Award

6.Young Entrepreneur Achievement Award

Additionally, finalists for each of the business achievement awards are entered into our Community Excellence Award. The Community Excellence Award recognizes a small business that has demonstrated an exemplary level of leadership and community engagement to positively impact the quality of life in its community.

The Dream Big Awards program winners are honored at the U.S Chamber's Small Business Summit in Washington, DC October 2-3, 2018.

Rules

Terms & Conditions

  • All aspects of the entrant's application and supporting material are original to the applicant or the applicant owns or has secured all rights to submit the application and supporting material in accordance with the Dream Big Awards Program's Terms and Conditions.
  • Neither the entrant's application into the 2018 Dream Big Awards Program nor the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's use of the application, in whole or in part, violates the right(s) of any third party, including privacy rights.
  • The entrant acknowledges that any part of the application may be made public at both the event and in related activities. All tax and financial information will remain confidential, except as specifically set out otherwise in these Terms and Conditions.
  • The entrant grants the U.S. Chamber of Commerce the irrevocable right and license to: copy, reproduce, display, perform, publish, modify, edit or otherwise use (collectively "use") the application and supporting material, in whole or in part, including the corporate name(s), trade names, trademarks and logos, as well as names and other personal information of individuals, referred to in the Entry and Supporting Material, all without limitation as to time, geography, or media for judging, education and publicity purposes, and any and all other purposes without need for prior notice, review or additional consent by entrant or additional consideration, and the entrant waives all moral rights in and to his/her entry in favor of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
  • The DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year Award winner will be chosen without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or physical or mental ability.
  • Contact information will be used solely for the purposes of communication with the applicant unless other consents are obtained and as otherwise permitted by law https://www.smallbusinessseries.com/. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice, for any reason.

A business must meet the following requirement to be eligible for the Dream Big Small Business of the Year Award or a Business Achievement Award:

  • Operates primarily within the United States.
  • Have less than 250 employees or gross revenues of less than $20 million in 2016 and 2017.
  • Provided support (in-kind and/or financial) to their community.
  • Winners are asked to attend the Gala on October 3, 2018, but are not required to present.
