Amgen is thrilled to be accepting submissions for the 2021 Amgen-BioLabs LA Golden Ticket competition! 

As a Gold sponsor of BioLabs LA at the Lundquist Institute, Amgen is privileged to award one promising start-up company with a year of free lab space (and more!).

Here’s what you can expect with an Amgen Golden Ticket in hand:

• One-year FREE lab bench and membership at BioLabs LA at the Lundquist Institute
• Access to the shared amenities and services provided at the Lundquist Institute
• Mentorship by experienced Amgen scientists—we let you lead, ask for advice in any aspect of your science, and we’ll provide insight and perspective
• Access to talent and expertise across Amgen's network

Once submitted, your company’s proposal will be reviewed by an internal committee of Amgen scientists, and 5 finalist companies will be identified and notified in November. Finalists will be invited to a virtual pitch to the Amgen Committee and the winner will be selected in December. 

• October 11 - November 1: Call for Proposals Open
• End of November: Finalist Companies Notified
• Mid-December: Finalists Pitch to Amgen Committee
• Mid-December: Winner is Announced

Wondering what to submit?  It’s easy! Just upload a non-confidential slide deck, with a maximum of 20 slides, including the following:

• Your company’s mission and therapeutic area of focus 
• Clear outline of the platform/program
• Minimum 1 slide detailing management team roles and areas of expertise
• The targeted market/patient population
• Minimum 3 slides of compelling data (with proper controls, labels and accurate interpretation) and relevant IP
• Upcoming key milestones and hurdles (including financing)
• Commercialization strategy
• Minimum 1 slide detailing anticipated benefits of securing an Amgen Golden Ticket

• Applicant must be an entity formed under US laws
• Applicant’s work must meet the strategic goals of the sponsor: https://www.amgen.com/science/research-and-development-strategy
• Applicants must be comfortable working in a shared lab space environment and conduct their operations in accordance with the established policies and procedures of BioLabs
• Winner will be required to complete a member service agreement with BioLabs
