Encore.org is dedicated to building a better future for future generations with encore talent -- experienced adults who want to leave the world better than they find it -- and in the bargain, changing perceptions about social impact in the second half of life.
Millions of people want “encore” roles -- paid or pro bono work that combines skills, smarts, experience and social purpose. Their experience can be a windfall in addressing the multiple challenges holding back youth. It’s a challenge ripe for innovation.
That’s the opportunity The Encore Prize: Generation to Generation Challenge seeks to address. With cash prizes, coaching and a year of ongoing support, we aim to launch the next generation of programs and products that bring the talent of 50+ adults to help kids at risk.
All applicants are invited to participate in our online accelerator - a series of four webinars presented by experts on the topics of: Human-Centered Design, Strategic Communication, Marketing for Social Innovation, and Designing Encore Roles. Fifteen semifinalists will recieve one-on-one coaching, peer feedback, and the opportunity to garner support through public voting. Five finalists will have an opportunity to share their ideas with encore leaders and funders and receive a year of ongoing support from The Encore Prize team and the Generation to Generation campaign. Two winners will share $100,000 ($50,000 each).
