RulesEntry Policies
All Entries, including images, become the property of the IIDA Illinois Chapter. The Entrant certifies that he/she has obtained permission from the photographer(s) to publish the photographs. Student Entrants certify that he/she is the designer of their student project. Please note, all images that are downloaded for your submission will be featured during judging. Therefore, if you wish to change an image that has been previously downloaded, delete the original image and then download the replacement image. Downloading a new image without deleting the original image will not override the original image. You must delete the original prior to downloading the replacement image.
The Entrant is solely responsible for any errors or omissions in the information supplied. The “Firm Contact” specified on your Registration Form will be the official contact for this entry and shall receive all correspondence and communication from the Chapter.
Students: Group projects will not be accepted. Student work must be from a project done on an individual basis. The course instructor for the winning entry will be contacted by the Chapter to verify student ownership of a project entry prior to the award announcement. Failure to provide this information or comply with the rules in the Entry Package may result in submission rejection.
Failure to comply with the rules in this Entry Package may result in submission rejection. Registration fees will not be refunded if submission is rejected.
To maintain anonymity, no names of entrants, firm names, school names, logos, or other identifying information should appear on any part of the pictorial submission or in the Project Description. Images with this information will be automatically REJECTED.
Entry Fees
IIDA Illinois and ASID Illinois Member Earlybird: $125 for first entry and all additional entries through October 30th.
IIDA Illinois and ASID Illinois Member: $200 for first entry. All additional entries $125.

The Michelle Roberts Student Award is limited to IIDA Illinois Chapter student members.
All initial Entrants will receive (1) complimentary ticket to the RED Awards ceremony in April of 2016 regardless of the total number of submissions.
Submission Requirements - Professionals
Submit at least three (3) and no more than ten (10) jpeg images (dpi of 300 with a maximum file size of 100mb each) with the Entry Form.
- All images that are downloaded for your submission will be featured during judging. Therefore, if you wish to change an image that has been previously downloaded, delete the original image and then download the replacement image. Downloading a new image without deleting the original image will not override the original image. You must delete the original prior to downloading the replacement image.
- A rendered floor plan is REQUIRED to be the first image and must be included in the entry. The following (1) image will be the image selected to represent your project at the awards ceremony.
- The first (3) images after the floor plan will be the images selected to represent your project at the awards ceremony should your project win an award. The winners of the Best of Show - Judges Award and People’s Choice Award will have (6) images shown at the awards ceremony to represent the project. These images will be the first six images uploaded after the floor plan. Please remember to upload the images in your order of preference. IIDA Illinois is not responsible for re-organizing the selected images after the entry has been submitted. Each file shall contain (1) image and no added text.
- It is required that file names be labeled 01-10. Files that are not labeled as such will be rejected.
- There should be no mention of project, designer or firm in any of the file names. If your image includes the designer or firm name, plese blur the name.
- Photographs and other images should include a variety of spaces that give a sense of the overall project area.
- All images must be in jpeg format. Any entry that does not meet this requirement will be rejected.
Note that only IIDA Illinois members are eligible to submit entries in the Product Design category.
Submission Requirements - Students
Submit at least three (3) and no more than six (6) jpeg images (dpi of 300 with a maximum file size of 100mb each) with the Entry Form. All images must be in JPEG format. Any entry that does not meet this requirement will be rejected.

Downloading a new image without deleting the original image will not override the original image. You must delete the original prior to downloading the replacement image.
- The first image is REQUIRED to be a rendered floor plan, followed by the image that you would like shown to represent your entire project at the RED Awards ceremony.
- The following (2) two images should be the next top (2) two that will be shown in addition, should you win an award.
- The other images should give a sense of the overall project (Design Development, FF&E, Materials, Renderings).
- Images can be in a presentation board format, but multiple presentation board images should not be combined into a single jpeg file.
- Any image that identifies the designers or the school will be rejected.
- It is required that file names be labeled 01-06. Files that are not labeled as such will be rejected.
- Each project will be represented at the RED Awards ceremony by a single image. Award recipients will have three (3) images shown. The Best of Show - Judges Award winner will have up to six (6) images shown. Please indicate which image you prefer to have shown and indicate your top three (3) images by showing them in order of upload.
Note that any student entering a project must be an IIDA Illinois member, and group projects will not be accepted.
Eligibility
All members of the Illinois design community are welcome to submit. However, please note that the Product Design category is exclusive to IIDA Illinois members only. The entrant shall be the professional, primarily responsible for the interior design of the project. There are no restrictions as to project location. The project team must reside in Illinois. The project must have been completed after January 1, 2014. Students are welcome to submit for the Product Design category and for the Michelle Roberts Student Award. The Michelle Roberts Student Award includes a $2,000 honorarium. Submissions for the two Award Categories will only be accepted if the Entrants are IIDA Illinois members.
