Microsite 2019 Platinum Pipe Awards

Description

The 2019 Platinum Pipe Awards Competition will recognize the most innovative automation ideas for Intergraph Smart® 3D, Intergraph Smart Review, Intergraph Smart P&ID, Intergraph Smart Electrical, or Intergraph Smart Instrumentation. Winners will be announced during HxGN LIVE in Las Vegas, June 11-14.

Prizes

The 2019 Platinum Pipe Awards will offer the following prizes:

1. Smart 3D Awards
a. 1st place - US$2,000 plus one complimentary registration to HxGN LIVE
b. 2nd place - US$1,000
c. 3rd place - US$500

2. Smart Review Awards
a. 1st place - US$2,000 plus one complimentary registration to HxGN LIVE.
b. 2nd place - US$1,000
c. 3rd place - US$500

3. Smart Engineering & Schematics Awards
a. 1st place - US$2,000 plus one complimentary registration to HxGN LIVE.
b. 2nd place - US$1,000
c. 3rd place - Us$500

All winners will also be featured at HxGN LIVE and in Insight magazine. Note: All monetary prizes are in U.S. currency. If your company does not allow monetary awards, we will make a donation to the charity of your choice.

Prepare Entry

Create the following three items (see Contest Rules section below for more details):

Video showing the automation, no longer than 3 minutes (.avi or .mov format preferred) - time-editing and reasonable accelerated video is acceptable, as long as the automation is clearly visible.
Description of the automation and its business benefits, 300-400 words (.txt, .doc, or .pdf format).
Screenshot image as high-res as possible. Select an image that best spotlights your automation, since it will be used in promotional materials such as Insight magazine if you receive a prize.

Judging

Entries will be judged with equal emphasis on:

Video demonstration
Written description
Innovation
Automation's benefits
Overall quality, thought, and professionalism

The contest judges and/or administrators reserve the right to disqualify entries if they have been inaccurately represented on the entry form, particularly with regard to software contest rules. The judges decisions are final.

All awards will be presented at HxGN LIVE.

Rules

You must follow the rules on how to enter. Violation of these rules will result in disqualification.
All contest entries must be automations developed to interact with one of the following: An automation is defined as code that is executed in conjunction with the Smart 3D, Smart Review, or Smart Engineering & Schematics API to interact with the Smart model at object level to create or modify data within the Smart model.
- Smart 3D
- Smart Review
- Smart P&ID, Smart Electrical, or Smart Instrumentation (referred to jointly as Smart Engineering & Schematics)
The video demonstration should consist of:
- Working model / illustration (no longer than 3 minutes) of the automation in progress
- Ideally recorded from a live action in Smart 3D, Smart Review, or Smart Engineering & Schematics
The description of the automation and its benefits should include (in 300-400 words):
- How you saw the need for the idea / some background of the development of the idea
- How the automation works
- Ways that this automation will increase productivity or accelerate project schedules
- Any additional information that could help the judges view your entry as innovative and inventive
Employees of Hexagon PPM, Hexagon PPM subsidiaries, partners or third parties, or companies wholly or partly owned by Hexagon PPM are not eligible for the competition.
Each person can have no more than three (3) entries. Each entry must be submitted with a separate Platinum Pipe Awards Approval Release Form.
All entries must be received at the Hexagon PPM office in Madison, Alabama, USA, by close of business on March 4, 2018. Entries can be submitted throughout the year up until this date.
