Description

The Illinois Chapter of the International Interior Design Association is pleased to announce the call for submissions for the 7th Annual Recognizing Exemplary Design Awards. Help us to celebrate Interior Design in Illinois by submitting a project that has been completed in the past 2 years. Entrants can submit to one or more category, ranging from commercial to residential, students to hospitality and more. Winners will be announced at the RED Awards ceremony on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Venue SIX10, as well as featured on the IIDA Illinois Chapter website and social media and in Contract Magazine. Winning projects will also have the opportunity to be toured by members of the IIDA Illinois Chapter in the following year, which is exposure that you can't get anywhere else. Don't miss this opportunity to have your Exemplary Design Recognized! 

To submit, please carefully review the submission rules below for detailed requirements and instructions. After reviewing the submission rules, please complete the online submission form and submit payment. Failure to comply with the rules and requirements detailed herein may result in submission rejection. Submission fees will not be refunded if a submission is rejected.

ELIGIBILITY 

Entrants should be the professional individual or firm primarily responsible for the interior design of the project that they are submitting. The project team must reside in Illinois. However, the project being submitted does not need to be located in Illinois. The project must have been completed within the last two years, no earlier than January 1, 2017. The entrant is solely responsible for any errors or omissions in the information supplied in the submission. The “Firm Contact” specified in your submission will be the official contact for this entry and shall receive all correspondence and communication from the IIDA Illinois Chapter.

STUDENT PROJECTS 

The Michelle Roberts Student Award includes a $2,000 honorarium. Student Entrants must be members of the IIDA Illinois Chapter. Student group projects are not eligible for the Michelle Roberts Student Award and honorarium. Michelle Roberts Student submissions must be a project that was completed on an individual basis. The course instructor for the winning entry will be contacted by the Chapter to verify student ownership of the submitted project. Failure to provide this information or comply with the aforementioned may result in submission rejection.

PHOTOS

All submissions, including images, become the property of the IIDA Illinois Chapter upon submitting. The Entrant certifies that he/she has obtained permission from the photographer(s) to publish the images. Likewise, a Student Entrant certifies that he/she is the designer of their project upon submitting. Judges will view all submitted images. If you wish to delete or change an image that has been uploaded with your submission, delete the original image and then download the replacement image. Downloading a new image without deleting the original image will not override the original image. You must delete the original image prior to downloading the replacement image.

PROFESSIONALS: Submit 3-10 jpeg images (300 dpi, 10mb max image file size)

  1. Rendered floorplan (uploaded as 01)
  2. Primary photo to be featured in media and at the RED Awards ceremony (uploaded as 02)
  3. Secondary photo to be featured in media and at the RED Awards ceremony (uploaded as 03)
  4. Final photo to be featured in media and at the RED Awards ceremony (uploaded as 04)
  5. - 10. Additional photos to represent your project for judging purposes (uploaded as 05-10)

The first 6 images submitted for the projects that win the Best of Show and People’s Choice awards will be featured at the RED Awards ceremony. Upload your images in order of preference. IIDA Illinois is not responsible for re-organizing images. Images should be given the file name according to their order of preference. Therefore, the floorplan file name should be 01, and the file name of the last photo of preference should be 10. Files that are not named as such will be rejected.

STUDENTS: Submit 3-6 jpeg images (300 dpi, 10mb max image file size)

  5. - 6. Additional renderings and/or drawings to represent your project for judging purposes (uploaded as 05-06)

Upload your images in order of preference. IIDA Illinois is not responsible for re-organizing images. Images should be given the file name according to their order of preference. Therefore, the floorplan file name should be 01, and the file name of the last photo of preference should be 06. Files that are not named as such will be rejected. Images can be in presentation board format, but multiple presentation board images should not be combined into a single jpeg file.
