Welcome to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) Student Internship Award Application Portal!
The objective of NAAF's Student Internship Award is to support students (undergraduate, graduate, medical), residents or fellows interested in conducting research focused on alopecia areata. The goal is to enable promising young scientists and physicians to acquire additional academic or research skills to further their careers and go on to become investigators focused on improving the lives of those living with alopecia areata. Applications related to all aspects of alopecia areata are strongly encouraged, including basic science, translational research, burden of disease, epidemiology and clinical research. Prospective applicants are encouraged to review NAAF’s Research Funding Priorities and targeted research aims resulting from NAAF Research Summits.
To initiate the application process, students are encouraged to solicit labs working on alopecia areata and spervisors are encouraged to refer the opportunity to promising applicants. The expectation is that applications will be drafted through a collaborative process between student and supervisor. Awardees will receive $3,000 as salary/stipend. Awards will be paid to and administered by the mentor/supervisor’s host institution.
Applications must be submitted through the portal by 5:00 pm ET on November 30, 2019. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
