UD Student Alumni Ambassador Application

Description

The UDSAAs are a group of undergraduate students selected for their outstanding achievements and leadership on campus. 
Ambassadors:

  • encourage school spirit through participation in UD Bucket List and events like Homecoming Spirit Day, I heart UD Day
  • foster connections among alumni and students
  • support the Office of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR)
  • serve as advisory members to the University community and the UD Alumni Association
  • educate UD peers on the importance of alumni impact through philanthropy at UD
  • and aspire to active alumni engagement upon graduation.

Potential UD Student Alumni Ambassadors should possess:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Reliability and dependability
  • Patience, tact, flexibility, and diplomacy
  • Overwhelming pride in the University of Delaware
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and confident attitudes
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience
  • Interested in educating peers on philanthropy

Expectations
UD Student Alumni Ambassadors are expected to:

  • Attend meetings 2x per month during the fall and spring semesters.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of UDSAA events and projects throughout the year.
  • Volunteer and assist for a minimum of 20 hours per semester. These volunteer opportunities will vary based on the needs of the Office of Development and Alumni Relations and the university.

Qualifications
The minimum qualifications to serve as UD Student Alumni Ambassador are as follows:

  • Undergraduate status at the University of Delaware.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50.
  • Good disciplinary standing with the Office of Student Conduct. By completing this application, you are giving permission to contact the Office of Student Conduct to review your judicial record.
  • OPTIONAL: Submit a recommendation form (can be found on UDconnection.com/SAA), submit resume, attend a UDSAA Information Session.

Selection Process/Timeline

  • Wednesday, February 15 at 11:59 pm: Completed application must be received online. (If you did not receive a confirmation email, your application has not been submitted.) (Mandatory)
  • February 21-23: First Round Interview. (Mandatory)
  • Thursday, February 23: Applicants notified by e-mail of their invitation to the Selection Brunch.
  • Sunday, February 26: Selection Brunch Interviews will be conducted 10:30 am - 1:00 pm Marriott Hotel (Mandatory)
  • Monday, February 27: Candidates are notified by e-mail of their selection as UD Student Alumni Ambassadors.
  • Saturday, March 4: New member training and orientation 9:00 am-12:30 pm. Location TBA (Mandatory)
